Why do people believe in evolution?

In my many weekly discussions and debates, I tend to see that many evolutionists, or agnostics for that matter, prove to offer very little with regards to a sound Biblical understanding. Their perceptions have been built upon media influence and a variety of stories passed on by the Biblical illiterate. Many of them are shocked to hear what God truly said as opposed to what they were told He said. They build their arguments from the premise, "The Bible is full of contradictions," yet in reality, their lack of understanding the nature of the Creator and His inerrant word is the only reason why it appears to them as "contradictory in its nature."

Nevertheless, evolutionists tend to be people not liking the idea of accountability to a supreme God and by denouncing His existence, they seek separation. Knowing and believing in a God has lifestyle implications. For a man to acknowledge the existence of a God would mean that man can no longer live as he chooses. Moreover, it means that they are acknowledging eventual accountability for their actions, which is something they don't want to have to think about.

Here's a simple test I'd ask you to consider:

If evolution turned out to be true, yet all the while I chose to believe in a God, the evolutionist and I still end up in the same place. It makes absolutely no difference what we did or believed along the way. But if creation is true, the evolutionist and I don’t end up in the same place. Are you comfortable with this reality?

I often run into supposed, "Bible believing Christians", also known as, ‘theistic evolutionists", who twist scripture around in an effort to accommodate the secular world-view by saying God used various stages of evolution in His creation. An example of this would be the age of the earth or the Genesis Flood. These people have compromised their faith and the divinity of God's Creation because of pressure and fear of ridicule. They will one-day have to answer to Him for their denial of the Biblical account of creation
